This year’s Stiftungsfest – the anniversary celebration of our club – took place unusually late on Oct. 4/5. The official autumn had already begun, and the weather made no secret of it. Snowfall and storms were forecast for the night from Saturday to Sunday – hardly ideal conditions for major mountain adventures and climbing tours.
The prospect of muddy paths, slippery descents, and the suspicion that the Apéro probably wouldn’t be held at Oertliboden this year dampened the anticipation for some. As a result, the group this year was a little smaller but all the more delighted.

Just in time for the Apéro, the last hikers who had made the long journey from Erstfeld arrived at the hut. A total of 19 Huttli, from young to old, enjoyed a cozy evening with delicious tomato risotto.
A special highlight for many was that we had the hut all to ourselves, including free choice of beds!

The storm that brewed during the night already gave us an inkling of what awaited us on Sunday. So, instead of alpine activities, we had a leisurely breakfast. Afterwards, we headed down through the freshly snow-covered landscape to the Golzern cable car.
A big thank you goes to Anina and Wisi for the warm hospitality and the thoroughly enjoyable time at the hut. We’re looking forward to better weather and more participants for the next foundation celebration – after all, it’s our club’s birthday, which we celebrate alternately at our two huts every year.
